 USI FELLOWSHIP COURSES

Dear Members, It has been the endeavor of Urological society of India to enhance the skills of the members of USI.

In this regard the council had taken a decision to start fellowship courses under the supervision of USI. USI had invited applications from the institutes desirous of starting these courses and having the infrastructure to train the members in various disciplines. We had received applications from across India of which 17 centres are approved by the USI in various disciplines. The list of the centres and the details of the Course director are listed in the table which has the contact details of the Institutes.

The fellowship are divided to

  1. Short term fellowship - for a period of 3 months
  2. Long term fellowship - for a period of 6-12 months

Selection of Candidates USI will invite applications from the USI members for admission to these fellowship courses. Only M.Ch/DNB in Urology candidates can only apply.

The fellowship course would start from 1st January 2023.

Selection criteria is as follows

The applications would be invited by the USI and the candidates will be given the option to choose the centres The candidates will be selected by the USI based on the following criteria

  1. Number of years post M Ch/ DNB
  2. Publications in indexed medical journal pertaining to Urology
  3. Awards received during residency and post MCh both in zonal and National
  4. Papers presented in National conference and zonal conference

Marks Allocation

For every year post M Ch/ DNB- One mark subject to a maximum of 5 marks

Publications in indexed journal- Two marks for each publication as corresponding author or first author subject to maximum of 10 marks (case reports are not accepted)

Awards received during residency and post M Ch either at National level or zonal level

One mark for zonal level award and two marks for National level award subject to a maximum of 5 marks

Papers presented in National/ International conference and zonal conference- one mark for zonal conference and two marks for National conference/ International conference subject to a maximum of 10 marks

The candidates who have applied will be assessed based on the above mentioned marking system and the list of the candidates will be announced in the website

The candidates will be given the option to choose five approved centres based on their preference from one to five.

The candidate ranking high would be given the choice of preference based on their options.

If the marks are equal between the candidates then age would be considered. Older in the age would be given preference.

 

The last date to apply for the fellowship in the prescribed nomination form is 30th November 2022.
